Heufel & Co. porcelain decorating business was established by Georg Heufel circa in 1891 at Moritzstraße 2, Dresden. He managed it till 1901 when emigrated to the United States. According to some sources the company operated in Dresden till 1940. Georg Heufel soon after reaching the USA started working for Ceramic Art Company (later Lenox Inc.).
Here, we can see one of the rarest pieces Demir Antiques has ever sold and acquired. This beautiful vase with a mystic mint toned base colour was presumably one of the last works of Heufel&Co Atelier, based in Dresden. It's unique triangular mark was clearly visible on the base of the piece. On the front face of the vase, a girl was depicted while reaching a tree. The detail on the girl figure is astonishing. The quality of execution can be observed on feet and hands in antique porcelain paintings. This rare piece was signed by Wagner, a signature we do observe mostly on 19th century piece painted in Viennese School. Sold to a private collection in Istanbul in 2020. #Heufel&Co #ViennaSchool #RoyalVienna #Dresden
